About Ava’s & Owner, Michelle Spell

This award-winning bakery started with its first location in Rockaway, NJ by Michelle Spell. Since then, they have relocated to North Carolina and have two locations in NC. One is in Clemmons and the other in Winston-Salem.

Spell brings more than two decades of culinary experience to her bakery. To her Ava’s Cupcakes is more than just dessert, as guests truly become a part of the family.

I love the cooler weather, grey skies, the bustle of getting home before dark, sweaters and scarves, and, of course, leaves changing colors and falling through the sky. When it comes to fall flavors, I love apples and baking autumn desserts. Apple crisp and pumpkin breads are among my favorites. I spend a lot of time in the woods during fall with my family and that always remains a number one love about the fall.
